Film and intergenerational discussion
In the historical auditorium of the Metro cinema, an excerpt from the film The European Grandma Project awaits us along with the film’s director Alenka Maly. The documentary tells the story of nine women from Europe and Israel who were born in the 1920s and early 1930s. Nearly all of these grandmas are over 90 years old and tell their grandchildren filming them about war and political upheavals, love and everyday life. With engaging openness and cryptic wit, they recall anecdotes, love stories or horrible tragedies. Afterwards, we invite everyone to talk with these witnesses of bygone times in a cosy coffeehouse atmosphere. Anyone who thinks of a question for his or her own grandma in the process can write it down on a postcard.
This station is part of the “Blue Route” and the “Purple Route” and is presented in English and German
