Cultural heritage is of the utmost importance to the society and identity of Austria. It not only shapes people's living environment and their quality of life, but also strenghtens social cohesion. In the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 especially children and youths should be encouraged to explore Europe's rich cultural diversity - in order to assure that now and in the future, cultural heritage has the value it deserves.
